How to design cool eLearning

Start with Before and After Magazine

After an engaging conversation about Color and Learning at Learning2005, I was introduced to the site/magazine Before and After. VERY COOL! It's amazing how compelling very simply topics can be when the presentation is well designed.

I am not a big fan of the page-turning text and graphic eLearning that is mostly produced in corporate america. Until we have tools to create better more highly ENGAGING learning environments and interactions I will settle for these online courses as long as they are pleasing and elegant to look at.

Next time you are asked to "crank out" a course with the latest rapid development tool of the day....STOP and demand more of yourself. Read Tom Peters and think WOW! projects. Learn a little more about graphic design and make something WOW! even if is still just text and graphics and clicking next to continue.
