The Shaping Thoughts blog has this post. Here is a great quote...
As I read the list I have echoes in my head of old managers from my past telling me to do all of these things BEFORE these tools existed. Now there are tools that can facilitate these professional practices and most of what I hear from corporate folks is, oh we can't do that, oh its against our company policy, bla, bla, bla.
Use this list as a starting point for pitching social networks in your org. And don't worry about any particular tool. Its what you DO, not the tool, that's important.
"I believe that, using the collective intelligence of all people within the company should be one of the main themes in the drive for growth, efficiency and value. Actually that collective intelligence has been mostly unused to date, just lying there. Part of the answer to change that situation, is facilitating relationships and helping people connect."It's a great list of 20 items. The thing I like about it is that its not some consultant saying "here are all the great things you must do if you implement social networking in your enterprise." This is a real person simply saying, "HEY!, My life would be SO much easier and I would be SO much more productive, if you would just give me access to these incredible new web-based tools."
