FastCompany goes Social...Drupal-style and Visual...DanRoam-style

The latest FastCompany issue has been sitting on my desk for a few days now. I finally picked it up and its full of surprises.

As business magazines are going under (remember Business2.0) FastCompany takes a risk and goes with a new model. But before I tell you about that I wanted to point out the Article titled The Napkin Sketch. Dan Roam's book The Back of the Napkin was released in March and this is the first major publication I've seen pick up on the idea of visualization that is so wonderfully explained in Dan's book. Check out this great podcast interview.

FastCompany.tv has also recruited the great Scoblizer.

The new social network of FastCompany.com is based on the CMS Drupal. Drupal is very powerful and I've found it quite useful for many web projects. It just keeps getting better. They are at version 6 and including RDF. RDF is basically the web standard that will run Web3.0 or the Semantic Web.

And speaking of surprises...I met Neil Cohn at VizThink08 and he has a quote in the article too. Neil is a visual language researcher at Tufts University. Check out his web site and buy his book too.

But before you do all that, be sure to sign up for the AG|08 conference. Don't forget to download the new ILS Report.
