My cellblock gets noticed

Someone else just updated to the Learning Moments Cellblock. So cool. I hope its not spam! If you are the uploader, leave me a comment...thanks!

The rest of you go ahead and give it a try! You can just drag'n'drop any image right onto the cellblock in my blog to add a Learning Moment of your own.

Even better, you can copy my Learning Moments cellblock onto your blog or web page and watch it from your own location.

I see incredible value in this capability for eLearning...just not sure of details. It may seem like a goofy little trivial widget on the surface, but consider what is at work here. Not only are you sharing your photos, but you are sharing the "container" as well. And you are leaving it open to the public...if you want too.

Corporate possibilities:
Let's say you put 8 cellblocks onto one webpage. Each cellblock is for a specific area within a factory. There are 12 factories all over the world. Periodically each site uploads a view of what their area looks like in their factory.
Or maybe you need to know if your colleagues spread all over the globe are in the office. Maybe each morning you drag your image into the cellblock.

School possibilities:
My oldest daughter just did a report on a president (she did Grant). Maybe you could have the class try to drag'n'drop images of the presidents in the correct order. So the teacher starts by dragging up Washington. Then over the course of the research project the children monitor the cellblock. When they see that the last image is the president just before theirs...then they know its their turn to upload the next president.

Better yet...create ONE cellblock for 4th grade classes across the country...Just wait and see what they put up. Every class room can have the cellblock loaded on the class web site, computer, or lab

Those are just silly ideas off the top of my head. But I'm certain with a little creativity we can think of something better.

That cellblock is pretty cool. I could see it as very useful for distanced ed teachers.

Actually, I could see it as a powerful virtual teambuilding tool. It makes it so easy to share pictures.

As the owner of the cellblock, can you edit the tags and content?

Yes. I can go into my cellblock account and manage all of my cellblocks: adding, editing, deleting, etc.
I hope someone uses it and let's me know how it goes.
Looks like another person just posted a pic from hawaii...not sure what the learning moment was for them, but I can surely think of a few looking at the image.

That would be me (who posted the Hawaii pic). I wanted to change the caption to .. "Sometimes it pays to look the other way".

The picture was taken from the back of Mona Kea while everyone else was on the front side watching the sunset.

Very cool! I love hearing the stories behind pictures. A picture may be worth a thousand words, but every picture has a thousand-word story.
